If you’re a single parent, then getting out for a date that fits in with both your family responsibilities and your budget might seem like an impossible task. But that doesn’t need to be the case at all! There are lots of ways that you can still enjoy dating as a single parent without blowing the budget. And if you’re lucky enough to live in the Hampshire area, then there are plenty of options for you.
Dating as a single parent in Hampshire
When you’re bringing up children as a single parent, it can feel as though you never get a moment to yourself. As well as that, you might feel as though every penny you have is accounted for by bills, keeping a roof over your heads, and keeping food on the table for your children. But no matter how tight the finances, there are still plenty of budget friendly date ideas for single parents in the Hampshire area.
If you struggle for childcare in the evenings, then you could always arrange a date during the day whilst the children are at school – many of the options I’m going to share here will work at any time of the day.
Take a romantic stroll in the park
Hampshire boasts plenty of stunning parkland that offers the perfect place for a budget friendly date. You could visit the Royal Victoria Country Park in Southampton. Entry to the park is completely free, making it a great place to visit if you’re watching what you’re spending. Take a picnic for two and enjoy a leisurely walk through the woodland, it’s a really romantic place for couples!
Be adventurous with outdoor pursuits
If you’re limited to day time activities because of the kids, then an outdoor pursuits date could be just the thing! This one will cost a bit of money, but it’s definitely worth it if you have the budget!
New Forest Activities offer a whole range of outdoor activities that are perfect for dating couples who fancy trying something a little different. You could try your hand at archery, or jump in a canoe for two and take a romantic trip along the river.
Visit the Spinnaker Tower
Anyone who’s been to Portsmouth will have noticed the Spinnaker Tower. Not only does it offer great fine dining options for couples who want to push the boat out, but it’s lovely to just take a stroll around the outside of the tower and maybe treat yourselves to a drink from the waterfront cafe. You could just take in the views and look out to the sea – I can’t imagine anything more romantic!
If you’re a single parent in Hampshire and hoping to start dating again, then the possibilities are endless. Take a look at your budget, and figure out when you’ve got some childfree time, and you’re ready to go!
