Dating during lockdown

I know that many of my readers are single parents who have been finding lockdown life particularly hard this time round. I remember back in the Spring last year thinking how lucky we were that the weather was nice so that we could get out and enjoy the fresh air. Well, this time around has definitely been much harder. Generally, the weather has been cold and wet, as you would expect in January. But that has meant that we’ve been even more confined to our homes than we were in previous lockdowns. For single parents, dating can be a really important way to access adult company – let’s face it, being home alone with the kids 24/7 can be a pretty lonely and difficult place to be, no matter how much we love our kids. But how can we still enjoy an active dating life now that we’re locked down once again.

In the UK, we are currently in our third lockdown – affectionately known by many as Lockdown 3.0. When I’ve spoken to parent friends, they have all commented that this lockdown definitely feels harder than those before, and that the dark nights and wet days are bringing them down. Staying in touch with others is more important than ever for our mental health, and if you were actively dating before, then there’s no reason at all why you can’t keep doing so even though we are locked down once again.

Online dating during lockdown

Obviously, we aren’t allowed to go out on dates at the moment. Indoor venues are mostly closed, and we have to stay 2 metres apart from anybody from another household, so face-to-face dates just aren’t possible. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy dating – we just have to turn to the internet to help us out.

Dating websites such as the Norfolk dating site have seen a real growth in their numbers over the last few months. More people have found themselves at home than ever before, and it’s only natural that they will turn to the internet for some social interaction. Life during lockdown without the internet just doesn’t bear thinking about!

With dating agencies such as the dating agency Norfolk being so easily accessible, it’s really easy to get online and start getting to know people.

easy online dating

I reckon that even once this lockdown has ended, online dating will continue to grow in popularity. We lead such busy lives in normal times, and using dating sites takes a lot of the hassle out of dating. With online dating, you can browse for a potential match at any time of the day or night, so it fits perfectly around the kids or even working shifts.

If you’re thinking of dating, then signing up for a dating website is a great place to start. You can take things at your own pace and you don’t need to leave the safety and comfort of your own home in order to start chatting to potential dates. It’s the perfect solution for single parents who want to start dating.
